Hi! I'm having a heck of a time deciding which way to go for this challenge. The spiral template has been such fun to play with....it's quite the lesson to see how easily it applies to many natural-world subjects. Anyway, I think the first two, the grapes, fit the challenge well, but what about the child and the grass? I like the child image, but I wonder if it is too crowded? With the grass, the spiral seems to be to more about the negative space than the subject itself....I think.:dunno If anyone has thoughts on the matter, I'd appreciate the feedback.863960192_CDg2N-L.jpg863960184_Nx9hd-L.jpg863960161_mrzf3-L.jpg863960199_rwMzu-L.jpg

    All very nice!

Maybe the girl and the first one are best - in my opinion...

All are very nice images. I think there needs to be a more defined focal point. The little girl with a tighter crop and flip left to right would fit the spiral with the back-lit wind in her hair drawing the outer spiral.

I like the nature shots. I actually like them with the golden spiral overlay included! I'd like to see more of them.

Thanks so much for the constructive criticism....it's just what I need! I'm still not sure which I'll pick or how I go about it, but I'm having a great time and we have a few days yet to go.....no worries.

OK, I 've looked at these a few times now, and #1 and #4 colors are very appealing to me. I think #1 has a more defined spiral (but do see it in #4 as well). So, my vote is on #1. Nice! : )

Thank you, as well, Tammy! I agree that 1 and 4 show a more pronounced spiral. It's my understanding, though, that we don't have to show a spiral? It's more about composition...I think I've got my pick.....

Yes, that's the way I understand the theme as well...to compose to S-curve or spiral and not necessarily have those shapes be part of the image. You have beautiful images to choose from that work the theme well!

I'll admit, it's been kind of a nerdy delight to overlay the spiral templates and see how they fit......it's like magic, watching all the proportions fit together.

I've been having fun with the overlays, too.

All are nice, but for me, the first is most appealing. I like the contrast and colors and it is really sharp.

Yes, #1 with the overlay included. #2 needs more DOF so the center of the spiral is in focus. I agree with the comment about the girl - a nice spiral starting with the hair. #4 doesn't say 'spiral' to me at all - my eye moves from bottom left to top right in a straight line.

Thankyou, WSS and Jerry: I agree that #1 is probably the strongest and on-target for the theme....I think that, however, this is one I'm going for, mostly because I just plain like it......and, while the grape is so very spirally-themed, the spiral in this one surprised me with its appearance.....
