Downloading Photos

A customer asked today is there is a way to download multiple photos at one time, or if they have to download one photo at a time. Actually, they asked if they could buy a disk of the photos. I haven't actually purchased a download to check it out, but I guess you have to do it one photo at a time? Any other bulk options?

Hi,

If your customer purchases digital downloads through the shopping cart they do, currently, have to save each download individually. It's a pretty simple process though, they can click on a download button and choose "Save".

We use an outside service for CD and DVD backups; unfortunately, due to some trouble with the interface between SmugMug and the provider, they cannot make any disks at this time.

We have suspended the option until things are worked out. We've provided this service since we first opened for business, and hope
to be able to offer it again in the future.

In the mean time we do have some great third-party applications that will help you download your images and allow your customers to bulk download images (if you have that enabled):

RapidFetcher is an excellent cross-platform application that will download entire galleries into folders, complete with filenames, captions and keywords. There are several choices for you, though. Each with a little something different to offer.
