I'm trying to put together a studio lighting kit and wanted to use Pocket Wizards for the triggers.

1. Can you buy them as a kit, or do you have to buy each piece separately?

2. Is it possible to use one Transmitter to trigger three flash units?

You buy each piece separately. The Plus II and MultiMax are transcievers, that is each can act as a transmitter or reciever.

The Mini is a transmitter only, and the Flex is a transceiver.

The Mini and Flex are for Canon flashes and in effect make off camera flashes operate like they are on camera. So off camera flashes can use 2nd curtain sync. They also are supposed to get more light out of high speed sync than the Canon wireless does, though I haven't been able to confirm this.

The can be used to trigger as many flashes as you want.

They work with Sekonic flash meters, that is when you press the button on the meter to take a reading it will file the flashes via the PocketWizards.

If all you need is a basic wireless flash control there are other radio triggers that cost quite a bit less.

There are quite a few video tutorials on the PocketWizard site.
