    Great shots! 15 really is one of the best examples of panning i have seen. what kind of setup did you have? what were the conditions that day?

    Thanks guys. I was using a D700, Nikon 70-200 F/2.8, SB-900 for all of these. I had two conditions that weekend. It was cloudy and hazy one day and bright and sunny the next day.

    How did you get such vibrant colors? These are awesome! Did you use a polarizing filter? I'm struggling with bright light for soccer pics on sunny days with games mid-day. Any tips would be great!!!

    Thanks all for the compliments. As for color, I always use a polorizing filter but for this one race, I decided to not use it to see if I could tell a difference. To be honest with you, I much prefer my pics with the filter. Otherwise, yes I have my camera set to use Vivid, which basically just adds a bit of saturation. I also bump some saturation in post and use dodge and burn as well as highlights and shadows adjustment. In some pics I add a levels adjustment layer and set a black point. This will tame down haze and brightness a bit and also add to the color. Hope this helps.

    As people see vivid, I think it's a bit too much.. looks oversaturated a bit to me Russ.

    2 and 10 could use a tighter crop.
    Like 11 and 16's perspective.

    #12 & #15 are my two faves. I love the overall look of these shots as well.
