Tilt-Shift effect on a car racing shot

I've been having fun with a Tilt-Shift plug-in for Aperture and I think I finally found the type of track shot that works well with that effect. The owner of the car got a big kick out of it at least. :)

    Well, it's pretty good…

    …but I still think there's something missing; to me it looks a bit too much like Scalextric, and I find myself looking for the PP work on getting rid of the slot…

    I think it might be that the blur is too static (simply an out-of-focus, or depth-of-field effect), whereas a true motion blur is something quite distinct, and difficult to fake…
