It's been a while since I've posted actual photos in the Sports forum. These photos cover two of my latest sessions. The Athletics had five players I covered and only one player for the Red Sox.

I LOVE shooting this age group. These 5-6 year old players always have such great expressions and have fun doing it!


All images were taken with a Canon 1D Mark III and Canon EF 70-200L IS USM f/2.8 using manual mode, evaluative metering, aperture f/2.8. For photos #1 - #7 it was a bright and sunny Saturday afternoon with game time beginning at 2:00pm and ending at 3:30pm. I would also use exposure compensation from 1/3 - 2/3 of a stop depending on the occasional clouds passing over head.

For photos #8 - #10 it was a partly cloudy with patches of sun. This game was on a Thursday evening with game time beginning at 6:30pm. I stopped shooting around 7:30pm because they did not turn on the field lights and available light was becoming less and less. I could have continued to crank up my ISO but I only had to concentrate on one kid and I took enough photos to cover the session . I would also use exposure compensation from 1/3 - 2/3 of a stop.
