Michele, see the sticky "is your custom domain busted?" in this forum. Read that, and holler with questions, thanks.

We tried really hard to notify all our customers a year ago. You must've missed our mail or it got into your spam folder.

Fixing is easy and takes only a few minutes and we can help. Follow the directions in the linked thread, thanks!

I did set mine a while ago. Followed these instructions - http://wiki.smugmug.net/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=1180125

But tonight, my website is gone. The error message reads:

    Invalid URL.
The requested URL "/", is invalid.

I just double checked my DNS settings and it is all correct ie CNAME is 'domains.smugmug.com'. My smugmug custom hostname is also correct. What could be wrong? It was working yesterday. I'm with 1and1.

I have a photoshoot tomorrow in the afternoon at 3pm. I hope this gets resolved before that time ie less than 24hrs because I just re-did everything (CNAME) again just to be sure. Sigh ......

Woke up this morning and yes, www.mafotografix.com works now. Sigh of relief... I wonder what happened? I didn't make any data changes at all to the settings. Same old (ie domains.smugmug.com) settings ... too weird.

a year ago, we emailed all pros with domains - we changed things up to make it faster - lots of time in advance. Sorry you missed our emails :(

Andy, one hour later and it isn't working again :(
I didn't do a thing between when it was working for you and me and now.
Help! I just emailed/directed a client 20mins ago to my web page thinking that it was working.

    I just emailed help@smugmug.com
I hope they can resolve this. 1and1 says they are not having issues.

    Hi Andy,

I'm using a Mac - Safari and Firefox.

I accessed Utilities/Terminal and typed in 'dscacheutil -flushcache' as I'm on OS 10.5.8 to clear the DNS then rebooted but still having Invalid URL error messages for all browsers :(

What do you guys use and what did you type in to clear the DNS?

Ah, all of a sudden it is working now! :)
Does flushing the DNS cache take 10-15mins? I thought it was supposed to be instant.

Should be. I never flushed DNS because your site works fine for me all the time.
