More Wildflowers from Factory Butte

Well, I'm kind of late to the party on this one since i've been so slow getting them processed, but I did get to see them live, twice, so i've got that going for me.
1. I first stopped by three weeks ago on the way home from a Capitol Reef trip. The yellow Beeplant and the purple colored Phacelia demissa (brittle Phacelia) were blooming in the Mancos shale layer near Hanksville, UT and Factory Butte. Only happens after wet winters, maybe a couple times a decade tops. We rolled through in the middle of the day; this is the best of my washed out photos.
2. I really wanted a better shot at them but didn't have a chance to get back for two weeks. Luckily, a few hung around for me.
3.
4. The rust colors are the dead and dying Phacelia. Wish everything died so boldly.
5.
6.I love taking snapshots of my tent and/or campspots for to remember trips by. They never amount to anything. Except maybe this one. Best sunrise all day.
7.If these landscapes didn't lend themselves to b&w conversions we'd stop doing them eh?
Thanks for looking,
Jay
