Three days high in the mountains exploring and skiing some amazing territory. Here's a few I've gone through. Enjoy! As always, I'll have a story and photos put together in a week or so.

Okay...enough, back to healing up and editing. Three days with 70lbs on your back and 15 thousand vert of climbing will do that to you!

Great stuff--3, 7 and 10 are my faves of this group. I am always in awe of your adventures . . . but I am thrilled to view the mountain tops from the comfort of my chair! I am so glad you share these with us . . . keep 'em coming!

I'm glad you guys enjoy...they are a ton of work to get, but amazing places to be. I'm just always thankful I still have the ability to get up into places like this.

#8 is amazing... seriously over the top! looks to me like that sort of thing would be a great way to get a one-way ticket to the county morgue!

I would actually ski from within 15-ft of the summit the next day. Wasn't able to get the last few feet cause it was a hanging cornice on both sides and I was already solo without rope (hidden couloir up back).

Lots more images to go through. Writing the story now. Should look mighty fine when I'm done.

...oh, and you should get out there. The mountains are great in whatever capacity you can enjoy them.

what lens were you using to get #8, and how far away were you? looks like you must've been clinging to the snow face with one hand and shooting with the other!

I was using a 150mm 2.8 sigma (great lens, but heavy), and I was near the top of one of the higher peaks in the area. The peak called dorado is probably only 1/2 mile away.

Well Scole, I just spent my entire weekend working on a trip report. Not about this trip yet, but about going to the southwest. So what the hell, here's a link. If some of you scroll down this far, then you must like my stuff well enough. Here's a trip report on Escalante, Death Valley and the dunes. Go HERE. Ha. And if anyone enjoys, call it a bonus!

Thanks Marc! I'm glad I could share, especially like it when people enjoy. This type of photography isn't the same as having your gear a short walk away. I have to make a lot of sacrifices that would make the images better, but the pics have a story to tell. Some of these places, few or none have skied in and it's exciting to explore or retrace old tracks. Heck, being on the summit at sunset, reminds me of this photographer who made it a habit of spending the night on top of them. His perspectives from those bivy's were pretty amazing.
