Flies - and a little story about a why...
...you shouldn't ever really want one in your hand...
I have got these today, but will start off showing you one photograph of a fly doing what flies do - this is on the bird table in the garden, having it's munchies...

Well, despite us all seeing flies as nasty little critters, in the world of the fly, washing is still done, so here in the second photo you can see the fly washing it's front legs after having finished it's meal.
Of course...
That might mean clean in fly world, but doesn't really convince us that they are clean, and not nasty critters.
As is borne out here in the 3rd image...
Underneath this fly, is host of mites/parasites, all clinging on to the body freeloading their way to wherever mites/parasites go...
And the last one is just showing a magnified section of the image on the area just behind the eye where one mite/parasite is most obvious...
So, the little why of the fly, is don't pick one up... you MITE regret it!
