Photo Contest Help: Break a tie...

Good afternoon,

As part of my institute's annual science conference, we run a photo contest.

With the oil spill, I lost several judges to fieldwork, so I come to DGrin for a tie-breaker.

I appreciate your help...

The Category is NGI at Work -- Do you like 1 or 2?

My first reaction. Something about the cropping on #1 that bothers me.

What is NGI (Natural Gas Institute?)

Second shot has much better lighting, and shows 'at work' vs. the other one which is poor light, and not showing anything happening. Crop isn't very great on the second, but I'd give it the nod because of the other two issues.

So now you are back to a tie....

I'm way too new to count, but I immediately leaned towards number 2. Number 1 seemed a little too...posed. Even with that the shot is still off to me. So 2 gets my vote.

I pick 2 also...I like the composition...and it actually looks like they are doing work. I think it's a more interesting photo.

Don't really like either, but have to go with 1.
