Slide and spray
This week-end Dell Hendricks, gold medal winning reiner from Texas, was in my home town of Sussex, NB (Canada) conducting a training clinic for some competitors from this area. Greg's slide (below) elicited a true "whoop" from the coach.
This was shot in an indoor arena with mixed lighting (sunshine coming in from the open ends, halogen lights in the ceiling) and as you can tell, a chilly day for mid-May.
ISO 800 70-200mm lens at 80mm, f/2.8 1/250 Not quite straight (if you look at the ribs on the doors).
C&C always appreciated.
There are many other pictures from this event on my website.

Thanks. The arena lighting is a bi*ch to work with. Once you open the f stop up (f/2.8 is the max for that lens) and up the ISO to 800 or 1600 - you're definitely limited as to how fast you can set your shutter speed.
Here's another that the clinician really liked (horse is in a great position!):
ISO 1600, 70mm, f/2.8 1/500
