I'm thinking of using either one of these picture for prints but I'm having a hard time in deciding which one. Maybe I can get some opinions to help me choose. I'm leaning towards the 2nd one, what do you guys think ?

Nikon D70 + Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 AF

Wow, good shots, I like them both.

I prefer the first shot, I can see more of the wabbits face hence it's expression and I really like the way the bars frame the bunny. There's more depth in the 1st one too.

    Bochie,

they are both razor sharp and well exposed to my eye...

I immediately liked #1 over #2..although I would not have been able to tell you why, perhaps snapphappy nailed the reason/s why!

    ..nicely done in any case

    regards,

    Anson

    nice shots!
I like them both. Initially I gravitated towards #2 because I don't like the ear being cut off in #1. But then, I like seeing more of the face/expression in #1..
hmm... maybe a little combining in PS ?.. :D
great dof and framing with the rails

Tough call--they're both really good. Like Burke, I thought a bunny really needs whole ears. On the other hand, what you see of the bunny in #1 is entirely in focus, which is not true in #2. And perhaps the whole ears in #2 distract from the expression, which is so wonderful in #1. Right, #1 it is thumb.gif

to my photgraphy (untrained) eye..they both appear in focus/sharp to me.
    ..Yikes am I going blind?

What do you see in photo #2 that tells you that the wabbit is Not in focus?ear.gif

...thanks in advance for your feedback

Well, maybe I just haven't cleaned my glasses lately, but the rightmost third of the animal seems blurry. On the head and left part of the body, every hair stands out clearly. It is just a matter of the DOF being narrow, so perhaps out of focus is not the correct way of putting it. Since the right side of the animal is blocked by the chair in #1 it doesn't have that issue.

Don't misunderstand. I think #2 is a lovely pic. I just prefer the other.

    Cheers.

    Thanks Anson,
I also like the 1st one though mostly because of the framing.
    That's why I have a hard time choosing. headscratch.gif

    Thanks Burke,
Yes, I too regret about the ears being cut off but the rails (actually lawn chair handrest) is quite small.
I don't think I have that kind of PS skill to combine this rolleyes1.gif

    Thanks Richard,
I agree that the first one has better expression.
You have a good argument there about the DoF. It did detract the 2nd picture a bit since most of the bunny is sharp. I think you just sway me to the 1st picture rolleyes1.gif

Nice and sharp for both. thumb.gif I prefer #2. Nice DOF, I like the shallowness of it bringing more attention the front. The only thing is that i wish it was facing more towards you like in #1.
