Hi Gang,
I wish there were a better place with a wider DGrin audience to post this but this is the most appropriate place I could find.
It seems that FineArtAmerica (FAA) (www.fineartamerica.com) has contracted with ABC Studios to to make available to ABC FAA's members' artwork for ABC's use as props and scenery on various TV shows.
As I understand it, the program is very simple. After registering (free) with FAA, simply upload your images to a special ABC gallery there. If ABC selects your image(s) for use they will send you an e-mail and a simple licensing agreement. You sign the agreement and FedEx it back to ABC at ABC's expense.
FAA will print the image, frame it, etc and deliver it to the studio. Upon delivery, ABC will send you a check for $100 per image delivered. Within 30 days of delivery, FAA will send you a check for your profit which I believe is defined as your asking price less their percentage.
I think you have to pay FAA $30 per year to join their "Print on Demand" program.
This is my highly condensed version of the program so please go to the FAA site to confirm the facts and any other details I may have left out.
I have no idea how many participants there will be but I'm guessing the odds of your image being selected might be pretty low, but they would seem to be a lot better than the micro stock sites and the payout is certainly a lot more. Even the initial $100 licensing fee is pretty good for just uploading some images.
I have absolutely nothing to do with this program or anyone associated with it. I just received the e-mail today from FAA and I thought it was worth passing on to fellow Dgrinners who might want a chance to make a few extra bucks for their work.
