Here are a few shots of a couple of different Jumping spiders that I found Tuesday afternoon.
Canon XSi, Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro, Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lites (1/2 power both heads), mono-pod, EXIF embedded.
First two are of the same spider on a piece of black painted PVC pipe.
The third shot is of a different spider hiding in amongst the leaves of one of my Althea's.

Why do you use the flash in manual rather than ETTL ?

Brian, I really don't know. I guess its that old adage "but we've always done it this way". I probably should go to ETTL but I'm comfortable shooting on manual. I may try it though, just to see how it works. Not much explanation, but it is the truth.
