Hoverfly Xanthogramma pedissequum

Had an amazing session with what I assume must have been a newly emerged hoverfly Xanthogramma pedissequum yesterday. The only drawback was I quickly found out I was sitting on a black ant's nest whilst taking the shots. Last 2 shots are natural light focus stacks.

All great, but #5 is my favorite because the setting creates a beautiful composition.

, I hope they didn't eat you up to bad. I often fail to properly examine my surroundings when I see something I want to shoot. Number 5 is a stunning image. The rest are great but 5 is perfect.
