1st attempt at macro

Hi, bought a set of screw on close up lenses for my kit lens. Cost me £4 off of fleabay. They seem pretty good for the money to be honest. What do you think?

Not bad at all - good series of shots.
Normal problem with single lens diopter filters is some chromatic aberation.

Nice images. What screw-on lens did you use? The best screw-on lens that I have used is the Sigma Achromatic lens. This is a true Macro which, together with your camera lens gives very good results. If you are interested I shall post a couple of shots taken with it. I now use a dedicated Macro (Sigma 150 DG macro) lens.
I found using the screw-on lens helpful in choosing a good fixed focal length macro.

Thanks for posting the link. Unfortunately the link does not provide the technical details of the lens set you purchased but I suspect that they are magnification lenses and not proper macro screw-on lenses.
My spare Achromatic screw-on lens is for a dia of 58mm. I believe you are in the UK and if so, and you wish to give my lens a try, e-mail me with your details and I shall ship it over to you. The only thing I would ask is that you pay for the return cost.

Nice series. Now I'll tell you the real problem you have gotten into. You'll like the ultra macro and have to buy more and more stuff. At least that's been my experience. Seriously, really nice shots and keep it up.

Thanks for the comment, I think I should be alright with what I have, I'm generally a landscape guy but bought them for a bit of fun.
