I like the one with the 'roman pillars' :):

Personally, I straighten my photos before posting... getting the horizon horizontal? Or did you do this on purpose ?? eek7.gif

I especially like the "painting" look of the first one.

The second is lacking a clear subject to me.

    Pillars are cool too!

i too like the pillars... I am a big fan of the watercolor effect, only thing I might do to the first pick is increase the saturation of the sky. www.brothersmedia.smugmug.com

    RE: photos
I like your use of vertical lines in the last 3, and in the first it's "painted" look.

number 2 and 3 work for me... nr 1 would go in my bin, so would nr 4.
In 2 and 3 I would indeed straighten the horizontal lines as a previous poster said... Second one definitely has a lot of potential. I like the green divided by the sand (or the land)...
The pillars are very nice, nice repetition of patterns in the lining...
    Keep shooting!

Thanks everyone for your comments. Really good to hear from an un prejudiced jury, as opposed to family and friends.

Sounds like the first is a loveit or hate it shot..perhaps relying to much on the "effect" ,but that was kind of how I saw it ... like a watercolor.

The pillars....oh how I'd love to get them straight. I've gone left and right by 1 degree but I think the perspective is throwing me off.

I love the third. I think the subject is the low tide and the beach. The way my eye moves back and forth following the lines is pleasing.

Yup, forth is in the bin. After looking at it I realize that the post is dead center. I'd like to reshoot it much farther left.

Anyway thats my critique of my own shots and you where all right!
    Thanks again for your comments

you can also turn them manually, use the crop tool. draw a marquee around it and tilt the crop marquee aligned with one of the pillars... Then double=click to crop. That should work...
