a little friend of mine had his first communion on saturday. me being me, i brought my camera along just in case. the pics of my buddy and his godmother came up subpar, but these 2 kids really caught my eye. not very clear on the title yet, but something about the future of the church...

(on a rather sad note, the lens i took those two pics with died a tragic death a few hours later. a senseless death that could've been prevented. never, ever, ever just hang your camera from the back of a tall bar chair. lenses make a very sad noise when they hit the ground)

    #2 is an awesome shot--perhaps it's the spiral composition : )
Is there some way you can brighten up the girl's face a bit?
P.S. I'm so sorry about your lens

ouch! Sorry about the lens! That hurts. Both pictures are great. Seems like #2 is getting good feedback, though I personally like both. If you could brighten the girls face, I agree that'd be the way to go. My suggestion would be to also dull or darken the woman's breast right next to the young girls face. Without a little de-emphasis it ends up being a rather comical addition to a cute shot :)

i took the advice on brightening the girl's face and darkening the godmather's boosom... (both excellent ideas. thank you Rebecca and Kate!)

and i'm liking the "so much promise for tomorrow" title idea. thanks Mark!

just weary i may have overdone it with the corrections.
