Hi Y'all,

We were fortunate this year in Viera when the Great Blue Herons nested in an area very close to the road.

The initial activity is when the male goes forth for nesting material

His mate stays in the nest and looks pretty

a successful trip

being a typical male a grand entrance is required

the traditional handing off of the branch to the spouse

His payoff for all of his hard labor

and the final results

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

The great blue heron is probably my favorite bird of all and the pictures are just incredible. I iloveyou.gif the shot of the male flying just above the road ("successful trip") -- the detail in the wings is wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Ric, pretty much my basic editing. I never do global effects on my images, sharpening, NR, ligthening and darkening (Viveza) are all done locally. The softer look may be because some were captured at higher ISOs (1,000+).

    Viveza 2?

I have the original Viveza but think the second version is far superior. The blending is phenomenal.

I'm still using the first version of Viveza. I'll be getting the new version after I upgrade to the new PS.
