Card Support HELP!

So I've searched and search but can't quite find what I'm looking for. I'm desperate for help since I foolishly went live before fully understood what I was doing.

I've learned that all photos must be 2800x2000 px to go on a card. So that's a step in the right direction... but:

If an image is larger than the card, can it be zoomed OUT? I can't seem to make that happen.

Also, I just want to create simple 5x7 cards with my photo on the front and my website on the back, and blank in the middle. I'd like to offer that up without whole whole confusing custom card creator. Is that possible? I just want customers to bea ble to simply put cards in their cart without customization...

I'm hoping to use the gallery

Please help me figure this out! I'm getting visitors who are confused, and it's my fault for not knowing ahead of time, but I'm desparate!!

Thanks

Tom

    Hi Tom

The card creator has a 'zoom in' button, but not a zoom out, I am afraid. You can reposition the image, for the best composition, though

If what you are really wanting to do is create some custom cards, I have just the link for you. There are great templates here:

    http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=974183&postcount=69

When you do make a card graphic, and upload it for sale, it is critical that it be the exact dimensions of the 5x7 cards, per this page:

    http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/Make+your+own+photo+cards

5x7 horizontal: 4000 pixels wide, 2800 pixels high
5x7 vertical: 2800 pixels high, 4000 pixels wide

so that it will be recognized as a card by the cart, and then offered for sale. Also pay very close attention to the orientation when you upload it, because uploading in the wrong orientation will result in it printing wrong - maybe even inside out!

There is one more gotcha for all of this - there is not a way to turn off 'create a card' at the moment, so your customers will see that as an option when they open the Buy button. (I think there may be some code floating here on DGrin that might do this, but we don't yet have a way to do so for you).

If you have any further questions, just holler. We are always happy to help.
