water mark problems

I am trying to create a new watermark, but I did something wrong. The back ground is not transparent at all. I had transparent checked and set to save to web as PNG. Here is the link to the one I did the past weekend.

So I have two questions.
1. What did I do wrong?

2. How can I do it better next time?

Change that gallery to SmugMug style please, and then show us specifically the watermark in question? Thanks!

you have two graphics superimposed- is that what you meant?

also, this is not a transparent png.

In photoshop, be sure you have only the text stuff selected, no background, and then save for web as transparent png.

I need someone to try and tell me what I am doing wrong. This is the last try. I start with a transparent new doc, add my text, save for the web, save png transparent and this is what I am getting. I tried to have only the text copied when I save but I counld save while I had it copied.

Ah, you have to select just the text - not the whole thing. cmd-click on the layer icon or ctrl-click for windows, now the text is selected. Then use Image>Crop.
