Still fairly new to Photoshop (CS4). I can do the basics including layers, masks, adjustments. However, the adjustments are always their own layer. What I want to do is apply an adjustment to a specific layer and not all layers. How am I able to do that?

Thanks

Alt-click/Option-click on the line between the adjustment layer and the layer below it. This will indent the adjustment layer which indicates it will only apply to the layer immediately below.

Hey, thanks for this one--I didn't know about the shortcut. I had always used the menu "use previous layer as clipping mask" checkbox, but that could be clumsy at times. What a beast Photoshop is--you can use it for years and still miss a lot.
