First of all I am NOT a PRO. But I love taking photos. This my neighbors nephew and son. The guy in the Army outfit is going into the Army. I wanted to take these before people were crying. I have my big girl pants on I can take the bad. BTW I hate editing. Thanks for looking and please tell me what you think. :)

Very emotional set! Most photogs aren't fans of selective coloring, and it is a little cliche but really works here.

If you're looking for some critique, I'd say the uniform is a bit overexposed in the first photo, really the whole photo is, so I'd just turn down exposure a bit. I'd also go for either perfect symmetry or a full angle shot on this one.

The 2nd photo, whatever that is in the top right is distracting and the shadow on his face isn't great but not horrible either.

That's picky stuff, but the bottom line is that as-is, the photos IMO are great, and will be treasured memories for, well.. forever!

I'm with PLV... Selective coloring is very cliche and rarely adds anything to the photo, but in this case it was worth it! (And I can't even remember the last time I said that...)

I don't like to do that. But the lady asked if i would so I said sure. I think they look alright. I am no Pro. And the Lady i took them for likes them I guess that is really all that matters.

Thanks for the kind words and How I can make them better

These are some really great shots! Very emotional. I agree with all that was said prior re: exposure, selective coloring (but for this it works), distracting element over his shoulder, etc. But overall these shots are priceless!clap.gif

Can't believe how young he is.
