Problem with PW protected gallery

Issue:
I have a gallery titled ROSARIAN ACADEMY.
I had a PW assigned to this gallery and everything was working fine last night. (tested it over half dozen times)
This morning I started getting calls informing me that the PW wasn't working.
I went in to gallery settings and the PW is indeed there. I then proceeded to attempt the login myself; I then received the "incorrect PW' message. I then went back to settings only to find everything appears to be inline!

Any ideas what would cause this?
Not wanting to embarrass myself by sending an email blast with a new PW to the client(s).

Did you delete and retype the PW in? Maybe a space or illegal character in there.
Or change the PW, save, then change back to the original one.

I did all of that with no success.
I even changed the PW to V
... and then login failed AGAIN.
Something strange is going on!
