Anyone having issues with trying to change their avatar using the hosting feature in other forums than Dgrin?
I'm on a few different forums and I'm unable to change the avatar as I receive an invalid URL message. I'm using the direct tiny link to the photo and continue to get the same message. I've used this feature before and it has always worked. I'm not sure why it only works on Dgrin.
Smug support says it is a forum software issue, but the funny part is if I link a photo using zenfolio or flickr it works as advertised. I've opened the zenfolio free trial for a test and I have to say that their product has somewhat surprised me.
Any ideas or should I further contemplate the switch to zenfolio?

Nope, that is a no go.
"Invalid URL"
The links that work do not have underscores in them. All of the smug links have underscores. Thinking out loud.

But, I can set my own thumbnail URL just fine:

So, it isn't a generic Smugmug issue or a length issue, but obviously there is some kind of problem.
Edit: Nevermind, even my image isn't working either. My image gets an error in a different spot, but still gets an error when the vBulletin software tries to actually fetch the image.

but not the -Ti link (our smallest thumb) which is 100px on the long side

It appears that avatars on LA Shooters are also 80px long side as well:

So, the trick is to use our custom image size feature and link the 80pixel size. More help on that is here, by the way: http://www.smugmug.com/help/custom-photo-sizes
Please let me know either here or in reply to your help ticket (which I'm also updating right now) and I'll be happy to discuss further. I'm sorry it took us a couple of replies to get it right for you. I believe this will fix the issue on LA Shooters forum, so try it, and let us know. If it doesn't work, I'll dig in deeper (and register there too so I can try it myself).
