I am going to post some highlights, but if you want to read the whole thing and see the rest of the photos check out my blog: Boston
So I was set to go to Oregon, booked my flight in February, only had two reservations- my rental car (which I have now been able to cance+get a refundl) and my two night stay at a hotel (which I haven't been able to cancel and get a refund). But...
So I went to this crazzzy party Friday night ... is what I would like to say, but instead I had a massive brain fart thinking that 4:30 am would be a decent time to wake up and get to philly international airport for my 6 am flight. So while I did make it to the check in alright, it was the security line that killed me and made me miss my flight.
I couldn't get on subsequent flights either, so I just high tailed it up to Boston!
This is the first time I explored Boston as an adult! It was great! Though Seattle will always be my most favorite US city, Boston (Angie and the rest of the Boston dgrinners, you got a great city!) is pretty much up there.
I stayed in Worcester and drove into Boston: When I got up to Mass. I stay with my bro, sis in law, and nephew. The first thing I ever do when visiting them is... photograph the little dude.
Now into Boston:

I didn't have that much time to explore here as I would like. I got into the island and one pm and had to catch either the 4:30 pm ferry or the 6:10 pm ferry or be stuck on the island. Like Lost.
This veggie burger and blue moon was huge. It was really tastey! If you are in Martha's Vineyard Wharf's Pub has some decent prices and really great service!
Getting my lighthouse fix in.
The fudge was pretty good!

I went back to Boston to check out the Fine Arts Museum and to just have a nice relaxing stroll. I had a really good dinner at Quincy Market at Wagamama. My friend told me to check it out and so I did. ...drool!
Didn't bother reading this sign and went down to the docks anyway...
I guess the chalk on the table is to write my order number?
I had dumplings, then curry, and ice cream for dessert. The food was really good! I think one of my best meals while I was in Boston!
I just wanted to say to the dude: "Dude! Ask her out! She literally says she wants to go on a date! Don't mumble something and head off!!"

I will also note that I did get some flak for calling Albany a zombie city, but, while we were there there was no one there. So from our perspective it was a zombie or "dead" city.
Anyway after driving 4 hours we made it into Troy, NY to eat at this vegan bakery and then vegetarian Jamaican place before heading to Howe Caverns.
I decided to leave my camera inside my car while we went into the caverns. Even though there was plenty of room for bags and stuff.
When we got out of the caves, my nephew did some sifting though dirt to get gems.
After we finished we went back to our hotel to check in and then get some food. Vegan Mozzerella cheese just doesn't cut it. No where close to the real thing. Good thing I had a calzone with real cheese!

$5 for the bag > 3 hours of digging and breaking rocks.
Our bounty!
We finished and went back to the hotel. My brother, finally, got into photography so the two of us went around the area near our hotel and down the streets to shoot some photos. It was empty. Pretty empty. I understand that most government buildings aren't the hot spots, but at least in cities like Philadelphia and New York City and Boston, government buildings still had some life around them.
So we figured it must have been a night life city. ....
A mini video on the emptiness:

All in all, I loved Boston and wished I could have stayed in Boston. But, for all its emptiness, Albany was a little interesting.
