Good friend and his motorcycle

This past weekend I dusted off the D50 and went down to the parking garage to take some pics of my motorcycle out of boredom. My buddy called and decided to bring his bike over for a few shots too. Obviously this wasn't any sort of a professional shoot. The only lighting I had was from the overhead fluorescents and the little natural light peaking in. I did use one of those cheap Sunpak external flashes, no diffuser, pointed straight up. Post processing was minimal, a little dodge, burn and sharpening.

What do you gals/guys think?

I think... Honda makes nice bikes and you might be a squid lol. Just messin' with ya :D

I'd say you need to bump the levels. I like how you metered the backwall in the first pic but it looks like you might need a little more power from a flash to help light the bike (or move it closer).
Looks like you dodged the whole bike in the second pic(?).

When you say "bump the levels" do you mean +/- exposure compensation or in post processing?

I actually burned the right half of the photo and sharpened the bike a little. Very little dodging.

Well if you were shooting, I'd say check the histogram (it looks dark on my screen at work).

If it's in PP, I'd say adjust the levels.

What does the second pic look like w/o the editing?

Hope you don't mind. I did a quick level adj in photoshop. Moved the left slider until it pleased me and then adjusted the mid slider. Went to saturation and bumped up the red saturation.

Ooooh, since we're stealing and editing... lol. May I?

(I'll remove this if you don't like it)

    Nothing magical.
Cloned out the extra two bright spots that kept stealing my eyes away.
    Cropped to taste.
    Adjusted the levels.
    Adjusted the color.
    Bumped the saturation SLIGHTLY.
    Added a SLIGHT vignette.
    Regular color processed.
    Cross processed.
B/W processed with a little more curve bumping.
