This is from my Nikon D200... never noticed this before...


What is causing this... green outline on the left and magenta on the right?

looks like chromatic abberation of the lens...........can possibly removed in post processing in Photoshop or other processor.

As I said in my post about CA, it can and does occur in high quality lenses and even more so in lower grade lenses, but can usually be significantly reduced in ACR. I have several L lenses that exhibit it. It is more present in complex zoom lenses than simple primes, but it is just a fact of life. It take me less than 30 seconds to remove it from most of my images.

Prior to digital image editing, we were just stuck with it....
