I've never posted in Landscapes before so here goes:



This is Tamarack Beach in Carlsbad CA in the foreground and in the far, far background is La Jolla Shores which, according to Google Earth, is about 21 miles away as the crow flies.

I like the colors, but not sure where to put my eyes. Nothing draws my focus in particular.

Thanks Wicked for taking the time to comment. I have to agree with you. When I posted the photo there was something about it that bothered me but I couldn't put my finger on it. You hit the nail right on the head.

My intent was a photo of the expanse but there seems to be too many competing elements and it is hard to decide where to put your eyes.

Oh well, we're here to learn and I just did. Thanks again for your comment.

I love the waves in this shot, but I agree it's a bit busy. Gee darn, that gives you another excuse to hit the beach!
