Sandhill Crane

On Wednesday, I came upon two Sandhill Cranes with one chick at the Viera Wetlands. Just a few days earlier, the pair had in tow two chicks. It has not been a good year for the survival of bird chicks at Viera. All that I have watched this year fell pray to predators. This is a photo of one of the adults........

    Nice image of the adult Ira. It looks like Viera has some thick swamp grasses through which it has to trudge.

    Always love to see the bird variety of Florida. I hope to God that the oil spill does not infiltrate the wetlands or we will have a major disaster in Florida.

    100,000 barrels a day for nearly 2 months spewing into the sea.
