Putting my images on display in local shop

I met the owner of a local bookstore yesterday and he wants to put some of my prints in his shop and sell them for me (consignment). He will be having his Grand Opening on June 17 and also another special event on June 19. He wants to do a "meet the artist" on one (or both) of those days. He is interested in both framed and unframed work.

Next door to the bookstore is a chocolate and confection shop. They share a "walk-through" between the two stores (customers can walk from one shop directly into the other shop) and her walls are BARE. She is also interested in displaying for me and both shops want something ASAP!!

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance. :)

I suggest that, whatever you decide to put up for sale, you mix in some actual pics of the shops themselves, for those bare walls. Close-ups of bookshelves and candy, employees' hands working with candy, folks sitting with a book in hand, the owners hard at work in each store (candid PJ style), and offer a posed portrait of each owner for the front of the store, so they can make a "This store is owned/managed by" sign.
What I said when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time: "The wide ain't wide enough and the zoom don't zoom enough!"

Yes, I plan on taking some actual photos of the shops. The owner of the bookstore actually asked for some. :)

Since tourist season is in full swing, hopefully both these stores will get busier. Our town has a lot of retail on the outside of town (Walmart, Lowes, Applebees, etc...) but not a lot to attract people to the main historic area. Last night when I went into these shops they both were closing up at 6 PM on a Friday (Why??!!)

The town occasionally has big street festivals and they close the street to traffic and it's only open to pedestrians. There is a festival coming up this month, so I want to get some images hung in time for the festival. :)

    Thank you for the suggestions.

    Any suggestions?

    Go little Neal........................print..................mat.................frame......:D

Ok I do have a question or two. Do have a mat and frame source? I would suggest plain black metal frames with, (primarily), a white mat for a consistent look. The smalest I would hang on a wall would be 10 X 15. Pictures on walls, especially in a store, commercial setting tend to appear smaller that in a home environment. Bette size would be 16 X 24. Sizes are for images only frame will be 2" to 4" larger.

I would also print up a variety of sizes mat, foam core backing in a clearbag.

    Have an artists statement.

    Sign your work.

Let us know how it works out!!!

    Sam:

I was thinking ImageKind, but because of the time requirement, I will probably get them printed through BayPhoto and mat/frame them locally. If I do it locally, then I can sign them before they are framed.

Thank you for the suggestion of doing 16 x 24.

I need to get busy!!! :)
