I just got booked to do a team shoot for a cheerleader team. 1 Team photo and 35 Individual photos. How long do you think this should take for one photographer and an assistant (assistant to do the order taking and organization)? Trying to decide if I wanna hire a second shooter for this or just be greedy.

I'd say you'd be done in two hours (and some homework preparation, so you don't have to spent time while shooting), but that's only me..

I do not think you need to share this one - I have done soccer teams with 18 kids in less than half an hour - are you planning on more than one pose per individual? That would increase the time.

I'm not sure on the poses. I was thinking of two or three and picking the best one. But then do I have to worry about the cheerleaders getting together later and getting all hissy that one girl got this pose and another got a different pose, however all poses that turn out will be available on the website for order after the fact although the packages would only include one pose.

WADR, there is a difference between soccer kids (boys?) and cheerleaders, who are the poster girlie girls. Poses, hair, makeups, giggling, commenting - this would add some time for the individual stuff. Plus they would wanna do little groups (which is good for business: one shot - several purchases:-), etc.

    Just my thoughts

I think this is one type of crowd where you don't have to worry about the poses, because that's for they "do for the living" ("Give me and A!", "Gime me a Y", etcclap.gif ). You just need to speak their lingo. I'd recommend to meet with their teacher/leader in advance, ask how they do call certain poses - and I can pretty much guarantee, you'll be in command, and both you and them will like it...:-) Make it fun!

Good luck, please share the pictures.:):

Just got a response from the coach, I've got from 6-8 and she doesn't care if they get in any practice that night. So looks like I'll go it with just a assistant. Assistant will run the cue, take the orders, all that stuff. Should go smooth, I hope.
