Dog Gone good time

well, my local husky club had their micro chipping event this afternoon. I was on hand to do a fundraiser for the group and do pet portraits. I had a great time, but was only able to photograph one dog. Seems the event wasn't publicized enough and not too many people came. It was a learning experience though, and something I think I might want to do again in the future.

Does anyone else do pet portraits? Care to share some of your work?

My wife and I do a lot of events for NORCAL Golden Retriever Rescue. We give a percentage of proceeds back to the group and we get first dibs if we want to do their events. It's a win win situation! Here are a few from our past events:

    Thanks Doug and Cathy
Your shots are lovely... I love the looks on the Cattle Dog's faces. Congratulations for working with rescue...

However, these are the two shots I am most proud of:

This was Sweetie when we first got her as a rescue out of a high kill shelter about a year ago. She was filthy and covered with sores and scabs from fleas and ticks. She had been roaming city streets as a stray and was pregnant.

Here she is in a relatively recent image to show what some TLC will do. She had two pups for which we found great homes and Sweetie has found her forever home with us. This girl is certainly not show quality but, she cannot be equaled for loyalty and love...

I've rescued many cats and dogs over the years and have always found that these animals are eternally greatful for the lives we give them and they show it every day.

Me too! They absolutely do know and appreciate their new families.

rpcrowe, If you can train the Maltese to run around on top of tables, and bookshelves without knocking any think over you have one heck of an auto duster.

    goldenstarphoto,

I like the second photo with two Australian golden retrievers. Looks like they just got back from an Hawaiian vacation.

    Pet Portraits
I am not a professional, but donate my skills to our local kennel club. We usually have a fund raiser in the fall and put up 2 sets. One with a fall theme and the other a Christmas theme. Here are a few of mine with the Christmas theme.
