This is a very sharp lens, and in excellent condition. At f/5.6 it is equal to or better than the 24-70 that is so popular. On FX, it is sharp to the corners at f/5.6. Wide open, it doesn't hold the corner sharpness quite as well as the 24-70, but you have to be printing at 24 x 30 to notice. I decided to go for the 24-70 for wider zoom range, and was expecting the 24-70 to be much sharper than this lens. I was so surprised that I ordered a second 24-70 to see if the first had been a poor copy. The second one was a slight improvement, but not better than the 35-70 at f/5.6 and higher.
