From their website:
"The Motorcycle Ride for Dad is Canada's biggest annual motorcycle event dedicated to fighting prostate cancer through research and awareness. The first Ride for Dad took place in Ottawa in 2000 with 75 riders. This year, the Ride celebrates its 10th anniversary and engines will roar across Canada!" http://www.motorcycleridefordad.org/

A friend of mine is the photographer for the Moncton group, the 2nd Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle corp. She normally shoots the whole event for their team, but was unavailable for the finish line due to a scheduling conflict. So, she asked me to cover it for her. I was really excited about participating and a chance to shoot motorcycles for the first time. I mined this forum for information on how best to shoot bikes and much more.

But, the fates intervened and there was a torrential downpour. Although over 750 riders from across the entire province had registered to participate, only a couple of hundred hearty souls actually braved the several-hundred-kilometer run in the deluge. Nevertheless, over $36,000 was raised for the cause (yay!) and kudos to the organizers who had a wonderful post-ride event ready to go. The band played on despite the rain and the BBQ was manned by soggy but smiling volunteers.

Here's a link to my gallery (complete with rain blurs on my lens despite my Kata raincoat for my camera - grrr) and a couple of sample photos.
