My daughter, c&c thread
I am not a big people shooter.....street candids are one thing, but trying to do an artful portrait shoot is not what I tried to do much. Did some outside and then some inside with a new off cam flash/umbrella set up.
I would love your C & C so I can improve.......:bow Oh, and thanks

I have the same issue with my daughter.... have her bring a brush next time for the stragglers!
Just more proof I need an umbrella or something.
I think it's a nice series - she looks a little uncomfortable but I can't blame her - our kids HATE it when we take their pics, and they just aren't natural. I think its a kid/parent thing!
There's some minor things, like on the inside shots, the white spots on the floor.
#1 and #6 are my faves.
On a final note, I think if this was done for another family, the mom would treasure them... I hope you can look at them like a "mom" instead of a photog!
Canon 7d
2 Canon 40d
70-200 f2.8L IS, 50mm f1.4, 50mm f1.8, 28mm f1.8, Tamron 17-55 f2.8, ProOptic 8mm Fisheye
And a bunch of other stuff
Yes, #1 was processed with the desaturated photo look.
Actually, I am very happy with this set, I just got in a 2nd umbrella today and hope that my lighting is better, but for black felt tacked to the wall in a 10x10 office, I am pleased with the results.......I just know there are ways to improve and love to learn from others.
Oh, and actually, I just look at them like a happy dad, but mom likes them too Oh, and I might point out that I am happy with these also as I did this in complete manual settings AND used Manual Focus, the fact that I got all these great shots makes me feel great!

Awkward......yes, forced? definitely not. Thanks for the comment, I also thought #6 was the winner of the day.

maybe uncomfortable is a better word? when a subject is not comfortable in front of the camera it can really show. in #6 she looks like she OWNS the stage!
