She lives south of me and I have been seeing her during my morning walks for the last month or two. Normally she slips away, but today was different, she stood quite close and watched me.

Hmm, she's skinny and looking at you like you're a future meal. :)

    Great capture.

A normally timid coyote chased a fellow Utah photog back to her car a few months ago. Very unusual.

WOW -- I'd be excited and a little scared at the same time if I came across her.

Great catch --- hope you get the chance to get more :D

South of the south 40. :D This animal is warming up to you.
I worry about her health knowing so many are out there looking for
a different kind of shot. A rare few with a solid reason beyond
    recreation.

Beautiful rich color and a fine photograph. Whats not to love.
    :D
Am just checking out the point of focus. Had a discussion about this kind
of thing happening with a photographer friend a few weeks back. Wonder if
it applies to this shot where something in the close foreground picks up
priority spot in the auto focus ahead of the intended subject but not seen
    at shutter release. headscratch.gif

The only time I have had a coyote mess with me was when I had a dog with me.....I ran into two of them in the desert and they split up. One stayed in front of me and the other ran around behind me. They tried to get my dog into a chase.....

She is skinny, and I think she is really young, maybe not fully grown.... THANKS FOR COMMENTING......... azzaro

The eyes are dead on I think....I forgot to change my camera back from the day before when I had it set at minus 1 EV. The picture was taken early in the morning soooo not much light.... The pic. was taken at f2.8 at 200mm ...The pic.could use more depth of field.... But I believe her head is right on........ Thanks for the comment.... azzaro:D

She's probably a "he". I just learned last week that one's eyes are usually drawn to the lightest part(s) of a photo first. :D

Darn, Gary. I think that thing is sizzing you up for a meal. :D I'd be toting a big hogleg from now on....that rabies issue is a little scary. Good catch.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Solid performer at those settings. I love what my 70-200 can do at these
very settings. Its a lens I will always have around and is a dedicated part
of my bag to be on camera when in need.
Nice recovery from the -1EV in PP. Really nice. thumb.gif

I haven't heard of any rabies in this area......Coyote can be pretty friendly sometimes, but I'm never sure of their motives... Thanks for looking and commenting........ azzaro

Hi Tom ..... I had two dogs with me.... I have never seen a single Coyote stand and fight......They will do their best to get the dogs too chase them. I have seen coyote with a comfortable lead heading across a field with the dogs after it. And hour or so later the dogs will come home..... The dogs on a good day maybe 20 miles and hour .... Coyote 30 pluse.....:D gary
