Sizing

I seem to have a problem with sizing. Any time I use PS or Corel or crop, of course it takes away from the size. My problem is how to get it bigger again. I cannot resize in PS; I end up with a horrible looking photo. When I upload it here, I get a very small end product.

What is the easiest way? I am a computer idiot.:scratch

I just tried making a larger image and uploading it...didn't work even though in my software it was a much larger image. I'm guessing width is part of the problem. If I figure something out, I'll share.

I have just downloaded Photoscape that Sherstone found - http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/download.php. It works great and is super simple. Maybe it will work better than the other software.

Maybe try 2 lines like HoofClix did. If you are using Photoscape, it might work to do it in 2 steps. Step 1 - combine the photos for each line into a jpg. Step 2 - combine the lines into a jpg.

I have several different programs that I use. I prefer Corel's Photo Album for resizing (that's almost all I use it for except for viewing my galleries). For some reason it does a better job resizing (to me) than ps or even Paint Shop Pro (or at least I know how to use it better, lol).

I also downloaded the Photoscape software that Sean found. When I created my word, I tried using the 'large' picture size when the resize slider was on 100%. I think the file ended up being 15 MB. Yikes. What I found seemed to work best was to use 'small' picture size and set the resize slider to 25%. Start there and see if you like how it turns out. File size turns out to be around 5-6 MB and the size seems ok when loaded into smugmug.

    Sandi,
I actually thought your image looked fine in the gallery...right on par with the size of many of the others. I'm wondering if no matter how large we make the image, the gallery resizes it to a particular width...so with longer photos, the height is sacrificed. Hope this makes sense. I did resize mine and it was around 5.6MB when I uploaded it...and the size changed in the gallery to the same width as all the other entries.

Try clicking on my photo; it only shows the smallest size. I can view everyone elses in a larger size except my own. I'll try the ideas posted, thanks!

That must be where I screwed up. I did use Photoscape, but didn't work on the sizing. I'll try that tomorrow.

    Thanks!

    Hi Sandy,

If you want to replace the entry on the contest, you have to login, add the new entry
as you did the first time, and for the entry you want to be deleted, you replace
