DSS52 - First Cut

My first idea - what do you think? I am still looking for some better options for some of the letters. Is the word obvious?

I got it right away...even though the "S" took me a little time to process. Could just be late for my eyes... A creative way to use leaves!!

I'm not too excited about the L, I think there's too much of the dark space taking up the frame, but that's probably just me. I did have to think about the S, but I totally see it now. Overall I think this is done very well

We had some good light yesterday morning, so I went out looking for another S. I also found more Ls, Es, As, and Vs. Here are the best of the retakes. What do you think?

Your "S" is a very nice find, but in my opinion, the image by itself is too different from the others - it's not
part of the same way of representing the letters - I'm not sure I can explain exactly what I mean...

Also the "A" is the only one using negative space - the idea is excellent, but you may need (at least) another
similar, like the "V" in your first version for example.

Just my thoughts...

I'm thinking I really like #4 the best, but #5 is nice too. I like your new 'e's. I never found an 'e' that I really liked for my word & finally ran out of time (& patience) to mess with it anymore. I'm a little envious that you found so many.
