I was wondering if I did the challenge correctly? I showed my final image to some people on a different ng and a couple people are telling me they can't see the letters in my images at all. Have I messed up?

Sure could use some other peoples opinions...

thanks...

I like the color, the overall visual pattern and the black frames, but I really had to look hard to see letters in the photos.

    hi there,
    My 2 cents.
The fact that you have a waterbottle in the beginning and end, threw me off.
Don't forget, at least one of the judges has already said that they are not going to look at your title, but will try and figure out the words on their own, I think the water bottles are detrimental (kind of a harsh word:D, but you get what I'm saying".

Also I really struggled to see "W".

But I do like the bold color.

Sorry Jenn but if it hadn't been for your title I wouldn't have seen the letters except the T. Even knowing the word I had real trouble seeing the letters. As Liz said the water bottles actually served to distract me as I initially thought they were also letters.

I don't understand why no one can see the letters?

I'm sorry, but I just don't see the letters either. I get the 'a' and the 't' ok. I have to look hard and really strain to see the 'w'. The lines on the water bottle just aren't well-defined enough to be obvious. Same with the 'e'--the lines get lost in the glare. I think the 'r' could be improved by cropping off the right side. It would look more like an 'r' then.

I think part of the problem may be the red. Not that I don't like red, but when I think of 'water,' red is not the color that jumps into my mind. I think blue.

I do think this entry shows creativity and imagination, but if we're all not seeing the letters now, the judges probably won't see them either. ne_nau.gif

Don't get discouraged, though. Keep working it!

You know, I wonder if some of it is the strong highlights? What may be clear to you IRL is being "masked" in the photos because we're seeing RED and HIGLIGHT rather than the contours of the bottles. When I look hard - and know what the word is -I can see it, but I do have to look hard. It's particularly challenging with the W and E.

Are the letters supposed to be strongly obvious? ne_nau.gif Many of the entries I've looked at... if I didn't know what the word was I wouldn't see the letters, either. I'm not sure what the goal of the challenge is, I guess. headscratch.gif The other image I did, "leaf", the letters were pretty obvious, but it just seemed a bit boring to me because they were that way. It didn't take any effort to see them.

What Allen (the main judge) said, was that first he will check the readability of the word.

ahhh well ... I could enter my 'leaf' image instead of this one. I just am new to this so I'm fumbling around a bit. :oogle eek7.gif
