    it's a nice shot, but it seems a little overexposed on my screen (then again, I'm overdue for a calibration so correct me if I'm wrong!:):)
    But your dof is good and your focus is spot on - I would try beefing up your saturation a bit, and darkening the image (especially the parts of the background that are blown out)
    you're off to a great start!

    I don't think it is overexposed, over sharpened maybe but not overexposed. Is this from RAW? It also looks like the highlights in the flower were turned down too much, gives the flower a "wierd" look. Could just be me though, thought I'd throw in my .02, hope it makes sense.

    I only did the normal unsharp mask that I usually do. It is from RAW and I didn't adjust the colors or tones at all after the initial conversion. Maybe I should have...

    What do you use to do the RAW conversion? Some programs use Auto Adjust by default. I keep looking at it over and over again, the color of the flower just looks off somehow to me. Everything else in the pic looks fine to me. I don't know, maybe it's just me or my monitor.

    The Canon software that came with my 20D.
