Random stuff

Here's some random stuff from my last roll (ISO 160 C41) with my Minolta Autocord TLR. Still getting used to the mirrored viewfinder.

1 Rusty Volvo Amazon parked at the end of my street.

2. Portrait of a sculptor in his studio. I shot this on "Open Studio Day" in my neighbourhood. His studio was covered in marble dust from floor to ceiling. The light was fenomenal.

Although he was very friendly I was nervous while shooting. Need to do more portraits of strangers, learn to ease up and keep better control over the Autocord. Although it is a bit soft I still like this, specially as something to learn from.

Shot with excisting light, no flash. I asked him to stand in a beam of light coming from a window.

If I ever find the guts to go back to this guy I would reshoot on ISO 400 and bring a tripod.

3 Some cat.

4. Around the corner from my house. It's soccer-mania in my neighbourhood. I am not a fan. I thought all the happy orange decorations looked kinda funny considering the depressing weather.

The portrait of the artist is great. I found myself wishing for better, sharper focus, but, wow, just love the lighting and contrast in that scene - handled so nicely on film!

Definitely go back. :D Like that shot a lot with the lighting you selected.
Nice to see some of the area where you live. We have our dreary days too.
But take the shots anyway. Sometimes special happens on just those kind
of days not found on others.
