I have a gallery entitled Commercial Projects. Within / under this I have a gallery entitled Product Photography.

I would like to move the Product Photography gallery out from underneath the Commercial Projects gallery into the general galleries tab.

How do I does this?

Thanks!!

    Commercial products is a category.
The category is carries as a property on each gallery.

To move a gallery from one category to another, go into the gallery settings for the gallery you want to move and change the category to the desired category.

But - if you are talking about your galleries page, that is a collection of categories. Are you asking how to move a gallery to that screen? If that's what you're after, I'm not aware of a way to do that. jfriend has a script that will combine subcategories and galleries within a category, but I haven't seen one to mix a gallery into your screen showing categories.

Did you mean move a gallery to the top gallery level rather than having it nested within a gallery? If so, how did you do it? I want to do the same.

    TIA.

I don't know if Andy is replying to me or to Sam, but if to me:

I have several bird categories. In one called shorebirds I created a gallery called Nickerson Beach. I don't want that gallery, in shorebirds. I want it on the same level as the categories. Would I have to make a category called Nickerson Beach and then then a gallery within it? I would rather have the gallery on the same level as my categories if possible.

There are no galleries at the top level, only categories. If you are displaying by category, then only categories will show at the top level. The only work-around I'm aware of is to put it in it's own category that has the same name as the gallery and use the auto-open script, customization #24 described here so the user never sees the category.
