Wide angle lenses

Has anyone got notes on the TSE 17mm F/4L tilt shift and or EF 14mm F2.8L 2 usm I am going to buy a wide angle of this caliber but can not decide between these 2.....Quality wise which will get the best shot??? will there be distortion in the 14mm and should I just get the tilt shift17mm? I have not found many reviews on it?

To judge from the reviews I've seen, they're both great lenses. The main differences are that the 14mm is wider (by about 10 degrees of view), faster (by one stop of aperture), and has autofocus, while the TS-E 17mm is fully manual-focus and allows tilt and shift movements. They're very different beasts, so much so that deciding between the two ought to be quite simple. If you understand your needs and you know that you need tilt/shift, then buy the TS-E 17mm. Otherwise, buy the EF 14mm. Or settle for something more economical like the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II or even the EF 17-40mm f/4L. Are your requirements really so demanding that one of these less expensive lenses would not do?
