    Good capture- Katydid I think - antennae longer than the body.

    Thanks for the ID. Good tip about the antennae. I took this right after a rain storm, hence, the harsh reflections. I think I needed more flash diffusion.

    Nope, grasshopper, it's a grasshopper!
    A katydid has a very narrow, flat body, like a leaf.
    The legs are much more delicate.
    The are much cooler than a grasshopper!
    (Leafhoppers are on par with katydids in coolness, however)

    Thanks, Phil. When we have a big storm around here, the bugs look for high ground to wait it out. Makes finding subjects immediately after the rain fairly easy. Lots of reflections though...
