Two Smooth Green Snakes (Opheodrys vernalis)

Smooth Green Snake is the common name for this species (aka Grass Snake). We found them along the Montour Trail in Washington County, PA near the intersection of Route 19 and Valley Brook Road. The 2 were in the same tree.

First Snake


This one looked like it had lost part of its tail.


Second snake


The camera was making him nervous.
