Grey Heron

I found a grey heron today. I haven't photographed one before. Unfortunately it hadn't read harry's thread about light and was backlit.

    We call them Great Blue Herons in the States. Excellent shot too. He probably did read my thread. I told you that birds are evil creatures. After eating and procreation comes making life miserable for photographers on their daily to-do list. :D

    this is a great job back lit or no --good detail in the feathers ect very nice shot the bill is almost see thru thumb.gifclap.gif

    Very nice shot......of a beautiful bird. Nice job. Becareful...these birds are EVIL. umph.gif They can take an eye out with that "pecker" of theirs.

    Just one word of caution though, be careful not to cut his feet off - even though you can't see them.

    If I ever get close enough I will heed your advice Mikethumb.gif , I used a 400 5.6 and it wasn't long enough.
