Kansas City Area Man seeking Photography Buddy

I'm a 49 year old Disabled man who cannot drive because of the amount of Pain Medication I take just so I can get out of bed and spend a day in a Recliner.

Recently, my Doctor and I discussed the possibility of taking a walk everyday, but walking around the same block day after day, really is as boring as trying to watch daytime TV for 5 years.

I was wondering if there are any Amateur Photographer's in the Independence, MO area that take regular trips out to shooting locations around the area, who might consider adding a party of one :) I don't need anyone to look after me, I know my own limits, so I won't be a problem if someone wants to go deeper into a location then I can, I'm a big boy and can occupy my time doing other things actually. I would be willing to pay the gas to/from such locations, and even throw in Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner, whichever is more appropriate after shooting.

If there is anyone in this area that wouldn't mind picking me up and taking me to your shoot locations when you go, please let me know.

Thanks,

Bob

Gee Bob, I wished you lived in AZ. We'd be a perfect match at the moment. Good luck, it is a great idea.
Also handy if there are any ladies that want to go explore an area that might be uncomfortable if they were alone.

Good luck finding someone Bob. Photography is an awesome tool to get your mind off day to day BS. Check out the recent thread by NikonsandVstroms for some inspiration. His story is pretty compelling too.

I can't help you directly because I am thousands of miles away. I hope you find a link - Ivar has a good suggestion and I wish it works for you.

Thanks Ivar, that's a great idea. Unfortunately after searching Google, I found there is only ONE "Local" Camera Club for my Metro area, that meets nearly 40 miles away, which won't work for me since I can't drive. I did get inspired by your idea and posted a personal in Craigslist seeking a "Photography Buddy". Maybe someone will answer that.

    Bob,

I'm just down the road from you (Raytown). My problem is that I never seem to set aside the time to get out and shoot. I think we might be able to help each other out! I'll PM ya and we'll see about getting something set up.

There are a few other K.C. dgrinners. Hopefully they'll see this and help out as well.
