Grasshopper nymphs

Sad isn't it but i got rather excited when I spotted a couple of grasshopper nymphs in the neighbours front garden (he doesn't cut the grass quite as often as I do). Spent about 15 mins trying to get a shot of one only for them always to jump off at the last minute, so I gave up for the moment. Later on met the neighbour who then mentioned he was actually going to cut the grass. So I them mounted an emergency rescue operation and caught two of them in a glass tumbler with a piece of card and released them on my own back lawn. Then spent another 30 mins trying to get some shots but did succeed this time. Think this is only the second tome I've ever shot grasshoppers.
All 5DMK2/MPE-65, #3 & #4 natural light shots.

I also came across one this weekend, not sad at all to get excited over finding such a cool specimen. I haven't checked out my results yet.Good shooting Brian.

    Brian,

Very nice shots. I sympathize. I found an adult in my yard last year and spent a long time on my stomach, chasing him around because he jumped every time I got close. I ended up with one shot much inferior to yours. My neighbors were polite enough not to comment.
